Navigate to the folder where you downloaded Enterprise Enabler, right-click on the “SetupEE.exe” icon, and click on “Run as Administrator”.

Check the “I agree to the License terms and conditions” checkbox.

Click on the “Next” button to select the type of Installation.

Select Installation Type

Before selecting your Installation Type, please select the Destination Folder at the bottom of the installation window. You can also use the default Destination Folder, which is inside the Windows’ “Program Files folder.”

There are three types of installations available with Enterprise Enabler; “Typical Install,” “Custom Install,” and “Complete Install.” Please select the desired Installation type, to do so just click on the corresponding button labelled with the installation name you want.

If you choose the Typical Install option, please proceed to the Typical Install section.

If you choose the Custom Install option, please proceed to the Custom Install section.

Both the “Typical Install” and “Custom Install” sections are included below in that order.

 

Typical Installation

Please note that the Typical Installation option will install SQL Server 2012 Express Edition with “sa” for the SQL Server user account and “EEServerDBu$er1!” for the password. Additionally, the installer will create the “<YourSeverName>\EEServerDB” data source as your database server instance name, which will include the “EnterpriseEnablerDB” database.

Click on the “Install” button to continue with the Typical Installation.

If you are shown this screen, click on the “Yes” button to continue the installation.

Installation Complete

Verify that the installation was completed successfully and then click on the “Register” button.

Fill out the registration form and click on the “Register” button.

In the Confirmation screen click on “OK”.

Click on the “Close” button. Then click on “Yes” to the question asking if you want to restart the EE Services. Allow a few moments, and after the confirmation, make sure the services started.

Custom Installation

Please note that the Custom Installation option will allow you to selectively install various components of Enterprise Enabler. You can optionally install SQL Server 2012 Express Edition or use an existing SQL Server installation. In this Custom installation, we will install SQL Server 2012 Express Edition.

Installation Components

You can leave the default parameters for SQL Server 2012 Express Edition with “sa” for the SQL Server user account and “EEServerDBu$er1!” for the password, or you can select your own SQL 2008 R2/2012 database. Additionally, the installer will create the “<YourSeverName>\EEServerDB” data source as your database server instance name, which will include the “EnterpriseEnablerDB” database.

Click on the “Test Connection” button, and then on the “Install” button to continue the installation.

  • Optionally, you can select a Windows Domain account that has access to Create databases on their SQL Server Instance by selecting “WindowsIntegratedAuth”.
  • Optionally, you can select a Windows Domain account that has administrative privileges to run the EE Services on the Install Server by selecting “This Account”.

 

Confirm Installation

Click on the “Install” button to continue the Custom Installation.
