Enterprise Enabler Upgrade Guide. From Version 8.0 to Version 8.2 or Greater

1)  Backup Current Enterprise Enabler Database

Make a backup copy of the current Enterprise Enabler Database. Before this version of Enterprise Enabler, the default database name was “EnterpriseEnablerDB”.  The current version of the database is named “EnterpriseEnabler8” so for this upgrade a new version of the database will be created.

2)  Download the Latest version of Enterprise Enabler

Visit the Enterprise Enabler website and download the latest release version of Enterprise Enabler (http://support.stonebond.com/).

3)  Uninstall old version of Enterprise Enabler

Note:  When Enterprise Enabler is uninstalled, the Enterprise Enabler Database IS NOT uninstalled.

a)  Before uninstalling, you need to stop the Enterprise Enabler Services.
Go to Start –> Control Panel –> Administrative Tools –> Services –> right-click on Enterprise Enabler Server –> click on Stop. Do this for both the Enterprise Enabler Server and the Enterprise Enabler Web Server (The path to the Services window may be different depending on Windows version Enterprise Enabler is installed on).


b)  Now to uninstall, go to Start –> Control Panel –> Programs and Features.
Select Enterprise Enabler Server in the list of installed programs then click on the Uninstall button.


4)  Install new version of Enterprise Enabler

Locate the new version of Enterprise Enabler and find the file named “EESetup”. Right click the setup file and click on Run as administrator. Follow the installation instructions for the Typical Install.

5)  Import all EE Objects from Old EE Database

a)  Once the new version of Enterprise Enabler is installed. Go to the Tools menu –> Import/Export –> Import.

b)  In the next window, select the Import or Upgrade from Database option, and click on Next.

c)  Now enter the credentials to the OLD Enterprise Enabler database. Data Source is the Server Name, and Initial Catalog is the Database Name. In addition, your user id and password to that database are required. Click on Next.

d)  Now, in the “Options” window, you can change the Boolean value of any listed object to true, just change the All Objects field to True. Click on Next.

e)  In this next window, you can uncheck objects based on whether you want to import them or not. Click on Next.

Note: Enterprise Enabler does not allow more than one object to have the same name. If you are importing objects with the same name as any object already in your local machine, EE will notify you that you will overwrite the current object. Make sure you do want to overwrite before you confirm. In this case, you should not have any objects in your new database, therefore this should not apply.

Check and uncheck objects click next

f)  Next, the “Selected Objects Summary” window will list all the objects to be imported/upgraded. Click on the Start button.

g)  Once the Import process is complete, verify that you received the “Successfully upgraded EE Objects” message, and click on the Close button. Verify that all of you objects imported correctly, and should now be viewable and editable from the Object Explorer tree.
